You have to realize that I never really had thoughts about having a house with decor that matched. Last night was so much fun because I can do this and love it every day. I woke up excited. You are so good at this. The key components I think are that you have a talent but you make it fun. I'm sure there are designers out there that come into your home and poo, poo etc. That would never be fun for me. I need to drink wine, laugh and cross slowly over to that buying nice stuff side.

After ten years of working with a couple in Newton, their gushing commentary was how I carefully elicited designs from their esoteric ideas and made them happen. Their Dream Home became a reality.

My husband's Uncle Billy exclaimed just this after I warmed up his lovingly built cape style home from a drab, cold gray environment into cozy welcoming  tones. I accomplished this by applying an updated color palette to his walls, furnishings, bedding, upholstery, area rugs, and window treatments. All of this complimented his painstakingly crafted wood paneling and other custom mouldings.

This came from a husband who was a trifle unsure as to the merits of hiring a designer such as myself. His wife and I had beautifully completed several rooms in their home at that point. She was considering tackling the next decorating project on her own.

When an inspired wife came home with what she thought was a treasure, her husband tactfully questioned the item's worth.

At the annual fundraising auction at a local preschool, my one hour of donated in-home consultation has developed into a hot item on the bidding sheet.
